MANILA – Freddie Roach got down to business immediately after arriving in the “City of Pines” on Tuesday with strength trainer Alex Ariza.

Roach and Ariza wasted no time in getting Manny Pacquiao ready for his fight against Miguel Cotto on Nov. 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao, in fact, kicked off his training in Baguio City last Monday without Roach. He jogged and made 1,000 abdominal crunches at Burnham Park then proceeded to the gym to continue his training.

According to ABS-CBN’s TJ Manotoc, Pacquiao let out a flurry of strong punches right way just like what he did last Monday. His speed was also undiminished.

“I’m ok with training here, as long as Manny is happy with the conditions, for sure it will be okay with me too,” said Roach.

The American trainer brought with him his training materials from the Wild Card Gym including punch mitts and body padding.

Two sparring partners, meanwhile, are set to arrive in Baguio City to join Pacquiao’s training camp. – With a report from TJ Manotoc, ABS-CBN News
