TOKYO - Australian international striker Alex Brosque will play for Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates league, his current Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse said on Friday.
The 28-year-old forward, who played for the Australian national team in the 2003 under-20 World Cup in the UAE, joined Shimizu in 2011.
He scored 13 goals in 56 games in the first division of the J-League.
He also played for Australia in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
"It's sad to leave S-Pulse. I was very happy to play for the team," Brosque said in a statement issued by the club in Japanese.
"But I'm a footballer, and I made the decision for my future and my family's future."
Al Ain are currently 12th in the Emirates league.
