Machida replaces ailing Bisping, squares off vs Munoz
MANILA, Philippines – Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will take the place of Michael Bisping to face “Filipino Wrecking Machine” Mark Muñoz in UFC fight Night 30 on October 30.
Bisping was forced to withdraw after sustaining an eye injury ahead of the bout.
"We're going to get him the best treatment possible," UFC president Dana White told ESPN.com. "Hopefully he'll be able to get through this thing."
Machida, meanwhile, will take on Muñoz at the middleweight division.
The Brazilian has decided to drop to 185 pounds after losing to Phil Davis in UFC 163.
