Pinoy wushu artist faces Camboadian in ONE FC
MANILA, Philippines – Filipino wushu artist Rene Catalan will be going up against Cambodian kickboxer Khim Dima in the undercard of ONE FC: Total Domination in Singapore on October 18.
Catalan, a gold medalist in the Asian Games and the Southeast Asian Games, will be taking on Dima in the flyweight division.
The Filipino is aiming to bounce back from a submission loss to jiu-jitsu expert Alex Silva last April, while Dima is looking foward to his ONE FC debut.
“I can’t believe I have the chance to fight at ONE FC,” Dima told the Phnom Penh Post. “MMA is such a new sport in Cambodia. I can’t say if I will win or lose, but I will try my best for the pride of my country.”
In the main event, Japanese MMA superstar Shinya Aoki will be dropping to featherweight to face American Cody Stevens in a non-title contest.
Mitch Chilson and Shannon Wiratchai will also battle in a rematch to settle the controversial end of their first bout.
