MANILA, Philippines – World super bantamweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire has once again been randomly tested by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).

Earlier this year, Donaire announced that he had submitted himself to year-round random drug testing, with VADA as the agency conducting the tests.

Boxing Scene reported that VADA agent Jennifer Hunter and a chaperone, Ruben Giosa, paid Donaire “an unexpected visit Tuesday afternoon to draw blood and urine samples.”

Donaire confirmed on his Twitter account that he was once again tested by VADA.

But he told Boxing Scene that the random test will not affect his training. Donaire is currently in the final phase of his training camp for his title unification fight against Toshiaki Nishioka on October 13.

“Not really,” Donaire answered when asked if the procurement of blood and urine will affect him.

Donaire explained that before his training camp, his nutritionist Victor Conte also drew blood from him “to test what’s in my body and what’s necessary for my body.”

“We do like five (test) tubes, bigger ones. That would make me feel a little light-headed, but not this one,” he added.

Boxing Scene reported that VADA drew enough blood to fill four test tubes.

Donaire will face Nishioka at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California, in a fight with four world super bantamweight titles at stake, including the RING championship.

“I feel good. (Trainer) Robert (Garcia) came up the other day and liked what he saw in sparring. I’m just ready to show fans the old Nonito Donaire,” he said.
