NCAA KO semis stage starts Wednesday
MANILA, Philippines -- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) knockout semifinal round begins on Wednesday, with Jose Rizal University (JRU) up against the Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT).
The match pitting the 3rd seeded Heavy Bombers against the 4th seeded Cardinals will be held at 4 p.m. at The Arena in San Juan City.
The winner of Wednesday’s game will face No. 2 seed, defending champions San Sebastian Stags, for the right to face top seeded San Beda Red Lions in the finals.
The unbeaten Red Lions need to win only twice in the finals, to reclaim the NCAA title while their opponent will have to beat them thrice.
San Beda earned the incentive after sweeping their 16 games in the elimination round. -- ANC
