Kapamilya stars show off hoops skills at the Big Dome
MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya stars showed off their basketball skills at the Kapamilya All-Star Game last night at the Araneta Coliseum, with the team led by Gerald Anderson prevailing over the team led by Jhong Hilario.
The Kapamilya Red Team, headed by Anderson, is composed of Rayver Cruz, Arjo Atayde, Zanjoe Marudo, Fred Payawan, Joseph Marco, James Blanco, Jason Abalos, Miko Raval, Enrique Gil, JC De Vera, Diego Loyzaga, Daniel Padilla and Gerald Acao.
The Kapamilya Green Team, on the other hand, is headed by Hilario and is composed of Arron Villaflor, Xian Lim, Franco Daza, Vhong Navarro, Eric Tai, Julian Estrada, Billy Crawford, Paul Salas, Ejay Falcon, Khalil Ramos and Marco
Despite being part of the Green team, Matt Evans didn't make it to the game.
The Red Team ultimately won the All-Star Game, 58-34.
Aside from the hoops action, the Araneta crowd was also treated to a halftime show by the National University Pep Squad, the champions in the recent UAAP Cheerdance Competition. Jessy Mendiola also performed the theme song of the new Kapamilya series “Maria Mercedes” before the game.
ABS-CBN entertainment executive Cory Vidanes gave out the trophies to both teams.
Aside from the players, other celebrities were seen in the Big Dome, showing their support to their co-stars. Some of those who watch the game were Vice Ganda, Kaye Abad, Julia Baretto and Kim Chiu.
Gretchen Fulido and Andrei Felix served as the courtside reporters for the game.
The Kapamilya All-Star Basketball Game will air on Oct 6, Sun at 10:30 a.m. on ABS-CBN.
