Amir Khan, brother fight off car thieves
MANILA, Philippines – British fighter Amir Khan and his brother have reportedly fought off six men who tried to steal the boxer’s Range Rover in Birmingham, England.
According to The Sun, Khan and his brother Haroon were ambushed by the suspects by using a 4x4 vehicle to block the boxer’s sport utility vehicle.
A witness said at least one of the suspects was armed with a stick.
“One slapped Amir and clipped him on the lip but Amir pulled back and knocked him out cold,” said the witness.
The rest of the suspect attacked Amir and Haroon, but the Khan siblings were able to drop the attackers one by one.
“They left these men with cuts and bruises but all they were doing was defending their property,” said the witness.
The incident took place on Monday.
Police probed reports of a fight, but no arrests were made.
Amir is the former World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation junior welterweight champion.
His brother Haroon is also a boxer.
