MANILA, Philippines – The Diliman Preparatory School (DPS) SkyXplorers took home the crown in the Athletic Association of Private Schools (AAPS) basketball tournament, their first ever championship since joining the league in 1990.

The SkyXplorers stunned the crowd then they beat Claret School, 59-44, last October 4 in Claret. The team will represent District 3 in the Quezon City inter-district tournament.

DPS President Nikki Coseteng congratulated Athletic director Dayong Mendoza and Coach Renzy Jabar, both former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players, for the job well done.

Meanwhile, the DPS Taekwondo Jins bagged 5 gold medals, 2 silvers and 8 bronzes in two separate tournaments—the SMART National Taekwondo Championships and the SMART National Inter-School Taekwondo Championships. – By Robert Pangilinan
