UST claims V-League solo lead
MANILA – The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tigresses sit atop of the Shakey’s V-League Season 6 standings with a 2-0 slate after beating the Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tams last Tuesday.
UST won over FEU, 17-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-17, at The Arena in San Juan City, reported V-League.ph.
The Tigresses won their first game of Season 6 last Sunday over the Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-18, 17-25, 25-17, 25-16.
Despite scoring back-to-back victories and claiming solo lead in the league, the defending champions are said to be in need of improvement.
According to V-League.ph, UST coach Cesael delos Santos said her players are still “far from their top form.”
The Tigresses, meantime, will face the Lyceum Lady Pirates on Friday to aim for a third straight victory.
The match between Adamson and the University of the Philippines will precede the UST-Lyceum showdown.
Friday’s matches will be held at the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym in Quezon City.
