Condit claims to have edge vs GSP
MANILA, Philippines – Interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit said he has certain advantages against Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight king Georges St.-Pierre.
Condit claims to be a more rounded fighter than St.-Pierre, whom he is scheduled to tangle with at UFC 154 in November.
“I feel like I have a lot of different ways to win. I'm well rounded no matter where the fight goes. In addition to that, I have a strong mindset I can break a guy psychologically,” Condit told UFC Ultimate Insider.
Making it harder for St.-Pierre to win, said Condit, is the French-Canadian’s layoff from the Octagon.
St.-Pierre will be coming off a 10-month hiatus from MMA action after recuperating from a knee injury.
While St.-Pierre was away, Condit defeated Nick Diaz last February to clinch the UFC interim welterweight crown.
Condit now has to face St.-Pierre to determine the rightful welterweight champion.
“I want to be the undisputed welterweight champion,” said Condit.
“I think I have the chance to beat Georges, coming off an injury like he is and being on the run that I am, I think he's gonna have a hard time."
