'Rampage' responds to Teixeira's callout
MANILA, Philippines – Quinton “Rampage” Jackson asked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White to set him up a match against up and coming Brazilian Glover Teixeira.
The former light heavyweight champion said he is willing to take on Teixeira, especially after the Brazilian called out Jackson for a fight.
“Yo [Dana White], set up that fight with Glover please!” Jackson said on Twitter. “Let’s give him what he wants.
Jackson was actually lined up to fight Teixeira in UFC 153, but he was forced to back out after suffering an injury.
After beating Fabio Maldonado, who stepped in for Jackson, Teixeira made his intentions known.
“I’d like to fight Quinton Jackson,” Teixeira said. “He was my idol.”
“I loved that guy coming up in Pride. But he says I was talking bad about him. I’m not talking bad about him. I’m not afraid of no man. Step in the ring with me; I’ll fight anyone.”
