MANILA -- The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tigresses scored win No. 3 in the Shakey’s V-League Season 6 second conference as it posted a straight-set 25-20, 25-21, 25-19 victory over the Lyceum Lady Pirates at the Blue Eagle gym late Friday.

According to V-League.ph, UST’s Angeli Tabaquero scored 12 points to ensure the win for the Tigresses.

Lyceum had two players scoring double figures -- Joy Cases (17) and Jamie Peña (15). However, the rest of the team struggled in their attempt to outscore UST.

Tabaquero, on the other hand, drew solid backup from the rest of the Tigresses with Maika Ortiz chipping in 9 points and the league’s current scoring leader Aiza Maizo adding 7 points.

UST also received boosts from Rhea Dimaculangan, Denise Santiago, Maruja Banaticla, Hanna Mance and Roxanne Pimentel.

Thus, the Lady Pirates fell to their second straight while the Tigresses maintained hold of the solo lead in the standings.

UST will attempt to extend its winning streak to 4 as it faces the University of the Philippines on Sunday.
