Manager: Floyd, Bradley are best in the world
MANILA, Philippines – The manager of unbeaten American Timothy Bradley Jr. put him on the same level as another undefeated boxer, superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr., saying that they are the two best fighters in the world.
“He (Bradley) is literally one of the two best fighters in the world right now with Mayweather,” said Cameron Dunkin, who manages Bradley as well as Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire, in a RingTV report.
“I think that him and Mayweather stand alone, just based on who they are and what they have done,” he added. “Tim Bradley is truly a great fighter. I hope that now, people are going to really start to appreciate how good he really is.”
Bradley holds victories over Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez. Last March, he survived a war to win a close decision over Russia’s Ruslan Provodnikov.
For his efforts, Bradley has climbed to third place in The RING Magazine’s pound-for-pound ratings, just behind Mayweather and another unbeaten champion, Andre Ward.
Dunkin said his charge should be given the credit he deserves for piling up a 31-0 record, instead of being the subject of criticism – something Bradley endured following his controversial victory against Pacquiao.
“He does everything well,” Dunkin said of Bradley. “He’s got determination and heart that is unbelievable. Nobody trains better than him, and he trains as hard as anybody ever.”
“His will and his heart are unbelievable. Tim’s willing to change up and do different things to win,” he added. “Whatever it takes, Tim Bradley finds a way to win. No matter what is it, he figures it out there and he makes adjustment.”
“He’s a Hall-of-Fame fighter,” Dunkin stressed. “Tim Bradley is an amazing guy, but he may not be truly appreciated until his career is over.”
