Pacana bags top prize in 8th SM Bowling Cup finals
Ric Pacana brought home a brand-new car as the top prize of the 8th SM Bowling Cup-Gatorade National Finals at the SM Megamall Bowling Center.
Pacana won a Nissan Sentra car plus a trophy during the finals held Sunday. He bested 29 other finalists from all over Metro Manila and Cebu.
The first runner-up honor, meanwhile, went o Rafael Aguila. He won P80,000 in cash plus a 38" LCD television.
Fifteen-year-old Dyan Coronacion, on the other hand, was the first to score a perfect "300" game for the whole season. She came up third and won P50,000 in cash.
Organizers, meanwhile, said that if nobody pulls off a perfect game until the competition ends in May, the P500,000 cash prize will all go to Coronacion. Incidentally, the teen star already went home with a Nissan Sentra after winning the 7th SM Bowling Cup.
Three more brand-new cars are up for grabs in the next two National Finals and the Elite Sport Challenge.
The Lipton National Finals, where another brand new Nissan Sentra is at stake, will launch 2009 off to a grand start in January. A brand new Nissan Grand Livina will go straight to the king kegler who will reign mightiest at the much-awaited Pepsi Grand National Finals in May.
The 8th SM Bowling Cup also has three new divisions this year – Bantam, Senior and Elite – opening up more playing opportunities and greater chances of winning. Cash prizes await Bantam and Senior champs, while the king or queen for the Elite Division will bring home the fourth car at stake.
