Ex-PBA import Cornley lands in jail again
MANILA – Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) import Jamelle Cornley was jailed again on Wednesday, seven months after figuring in a commotion with policemen in Quezon City.
According to Snow Badua’s Spin.ph report, the controversial import was detained on Wednesday in Camp Karingal for reportedly maltreating his girlfriend.
Cornley, a former PBA best import who led Rain or Shine to the 2012 Governors’ Cup title, was also jailed last March for punching a Quezon City police officer.
In that incident, the 6'5" former Penn State cager complained about three female prostitutes who stole his P60,000 and scuffled with cops. He was later released on bail.
Cornley, who tried to return to the PBA, later attracted attention in Twitter when he called Ginebra import Dior Lowhorn a “bum.”
As an Elasto Painter, Cornley averaged 22.6 points and 9 rebounds per game.
