MANILA, Philippines – Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) Rich Franklin will clash against former Strikeforce champion Cung Le on November 10 when UFC holds its first fight card in China.

In an effort to widen its broadcast viewership in Asia, the UFC has decided to bring in Franklin versus Le at the Cotai Arena in Macau.

Franklin, a former UFC middleweight champion, said he can not underestimate Le’s sanshou, which is a Chinese hand-to-hand self-defense system.

“Cung does things that fighters don't do,” said Franklin, referring to Le’s spinning back fists and spinning back kicks.

Le, for his part, said Franklin remains to be a potent fighter, pointing out that it was Franklin who retired UFC great Chuck Liddel.

“I have great respect for Rich Franklin. The way he dropped Chuck Liddel is unforgettable,” said Le.

Also included in the card are the light heavyweight match between Thiago Silva and Stanislav Nedkov and the welterweight clash between Dong Hyun Kim and Paulo Thiago.
