Pacman gets hero’s welcome in LA
LOS ANGELES – “People’s Champ” Manny Pacquiao received a hero’s welcome Saturday night when he turned up at the Los Angeles International Airport.
Crowds of fans awaited the pound-for-pound king as he arrived from the Philippines where he has been training the past 2 months for his upcoming championship fight against Miguel Cotto.
Pacquiao was smothered by fans and ushered away the moment he stepped out of the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
After all the commotion, Pacquiao spent the next morning attending mass at Christ the King Church in Los Angeles.
Pacquiao said he is glad to be back in the United States so he can focus on his traning.
“I’m still focused on my training despite the tragedy happening. I'm still focused on my training because I know this is going to be a hard fight for me,” he said.
It has been a difficult month for the pound-for-pound king.
Pacquiao has not only been training hard for his upcoming match against Cotto, but he has also been helping with relief efforts after the devastating storms “Ondoy” (international code name Ketsana) and “Pepeng” (Parma) hit the Philippines.
He said making history with another title in a different weight class, and, most importantly, uplifting the spirit of the Filipino people are his underlying motivations to win the Nov. 14 bout.
“Exactly one of the reasons I need to win this fight because I'll make history in boxing and become the first [to win] seven title belts in a different weight division,” he noted.
“And of course, I have to win this fight for all the Filipino people suffering from the storm and to the Filipinos who are suffering,” he added.
Pacquiao, who weighs 4 lbs. over the required 145 lbs. weight limit, will spend the next 2 weeks honing his game plan against Cotto.

Last 2 weeks
This last 2 weeks will be intense training for Pacquiao. Glad he is back in Freddie Roach's Wild Card Gym in LA so he can re-focus on the big apple this coming November 14th. Not to mention, away from that politician, Manny Villar!
