Arum: There's no quit in Marquez
MANILA, Philippines – Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said he sees Juan Manuel Marquez fighting until the bitter end against Manny Pacquiao despite the Filipino boxer’s improvement.
Arum expects Pacquiao to show on November 12 that he’s much improved since the last Marquez fight.
“Pacquiao will demonstrate that his right hand is awful as the left," he said in Examiner.com.
The 2 boxers fought 2 close fights in the past 7 years.
In 2004, their fight ended in a draw. In 2008, Pacquiao edged Marquez with a split decision.
Arum said that Pacquiao has made significant improvements in the past years.
"If it's the same 'Pacquiao' that fought Marquez 4 years ago who will fight him (Marquez) on November 12, it will be a close fight," said Arum. "But, Pacquiao had no right hand four years ago."
However, Arum said that despite Pacquiao’s improvements, Marquez will look for ways to defeat the Filipino.
“He's not gonna quit. He's gonna try to figure out how he can stop the left and right of Pacquiao - not really an easy test for Marquez," said Arum.
