2 Pinoy bowlers vie for World Cup title
MANILA, Philippines – Two Filipino bowlers will try their luck in the Bowling World Cup International finals in Poland starting November 24.
Busan Asian Games gold medalist RJ Bautista will make his return to the Bowling World Cup after his 8th-place finish in the 1999 edition of the tournament.
“Matagal ako nabakante because of work as a flight attendant sa Philippine Airlines,” said Bautista in dzMM’s Sports Talk.
The 34-year-old said he has decided to return to bowling because of his love for the sport.
“Mahal namin ang sport kaya talagang maglalaro at maglalaro kami,” said Bautista.
Bautista earned a qualification for the Cup by beating Chester King at the SM Bowling Center last September.
Also competing in Wroclaw, Poland is World Cup finalist Krizzia Tabora.
Tabora said she became a competitive bowler after her father saw her potential.
“After ko maglaro ng 1 game, kinabukasan naghanap na ng magtuturo ang dad ko,” she said.
The Bowling World Cup International finals will run from November 24 to December 2.
