Two Zamboanguenos win big in Muay Thai tourney

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two Zamboanga natives won big at the recently-held World Muay Thai Championship in Busan, South Korea.
Roland Claro of the Philippine Coast Guard won the gold medal by beating his English foe during the competition that ran from September 27 to October 3.
Another Zamboangueño, third year college student Jay Harold Gregorio, settled for silver.
More than 100 athletes from all over the world joined the competition.
Claro and Gregorio cited discipline and humility as the secrets behind a good Muay Thai fighter.
This early, the fighters are already lined up for competitions this coming December.
Muay Thai is a form of hard martial arts practiced in several Southeast Asian countries, especially Thailand.
