FEU enters V-League quarters
MANILA – The Far Eastern University (FEU) joined standings leader University of Santo Tomas (UST) in the quarterfinals of the Shakey’s V-League Season 6.
The Lady Tams clinched the 2nd quarterfinal spot after beating the College of St. Benilde (CSB) Lady Blazers, 25-17, 25-19, 13-25, 25-18, Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan City.
“We had poor reception in the third so I told them to work on it. It’s a good thing they responded,” FEU coach Nes Pamilar told V-League.ph in Filipino.
Cherry Vivas made 17 hits, Shaira Gonzalez contributed 16 points, and Rose Cabanag scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, the Ateneo-OraCare Lady Eagles won over the Lyceum Lady Pirates in Tuesday’s other match.
Ateneo overcame Lyceum, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21. Guest player Charo Soriano and Angeline Gervacio scored 12 points each for Ateneo.
The Lady Eagles will seek to score another victory when they face the Lady Blazers on Friday. Lyceum, meanwhile, will play against San Sebastian College in the other match.
