With less than five weeks to go before December 6, Manny Pacquiao "is doing very well" in his sparring sessions with bigger fighters that are approximately Oscar de la Hoya's height at the Wild Card gym of coach Freddie Roach in Los Angeles.

In fact, conditioning coach Alex Ariza told Manila-based sports analyst Ronnie Nathanielsz that Pacquiao sparred this week with British lightweight Amir Khan and junior middleweight Rashad Holloway.

Ariza said that despite the height advantage that his sparmates enjoyed, Pacquiao handled himself well in two rounds with Khan and four against Holloway.

According to Ariza, Holloway at 5'10" is "approximates" the style of de la Hoya. He said the WBC lightweight champ adjusted well to Holloway's much taller frame.

"[It took] a while to adjust to the speed of Khan but it was a lot different from Holloway because Khan is a lot faster than Holloway so it’s a good match,”  Ariza said.

In the case of Khan, who stands almost six feet, Ariza said it was a good mix of a "big guy with great hand speed."

Meanwhile, Ariza disclosed that Roach was visibly upset the other day when somebody in the Pacquiao camp brought in fans while the boxer was doing closed-door training sessions.

“People know that the gym is closed and yet they still continue to show up. We understand that there are fans, or friends or family members but the truth of the matter is, there’s a sign that says the gym is closed,” he said.

As for Pacquiao's weight, Ariza said his ward is now at 152 pounds, five shy of the 147-lb welterweight limit that the Filipino boxing icon and de la Hoya agreed upon.

Pacquiao and de la Hoya will slug it out at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in what has been touted as "The Dream Match" that will pit the "Pacman" against the 10-time world champ.
