Overeem sees future fight versus 'Bones'
MANILA, Philippines – “Demolition Man” Alistair Overeem sees Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight king Jon “Bones” Jones climbing the heavyweight ranks in the future.
The Dutch behemoth also believes that he might even meet Jones inside the Octagon.
"He will end up in the heavyweight [division] because he has the frame." Overeem told MMA Interviews.tv of the 6’4” Jones. "That's just a matter of time and I'm definitely looking forward to fighting him.”
Should Jones bulk up and enter the 265-pound weight class, Overeem said he wants to give Jones a rude welcome.
“I'm already very excited about the prospect of fighting someone like him. He's dominant in the light heavyweight division,” he said.
Overeem used to compete as a light heavyweight fighter.
He later decided to invade the heavyweight division and won the Strikerforce, Dream, and K-1 titles in the process.
“For me, I like challenges. That's where my biggest, greatest, and unexpected wins came from. I'm definitely looking forward to fighting Jon Jones," said the Demolition Man.
