Bradley sees no sense in Pac-Marquez 5
MANILA, Philippines – WBO welterweight title holder Timothy Bradley said he has already seen Manny Pacquiao fight Juan Manuel Marquez four times.
He doesn't want to see the two going at it again.
“Them guys have already fought four times already, I don’t understand why they need to do another one, I honestly don’t,” said Bradley in On the Ropes Boxing Radio.
During the fourth installment of their boxing rivalry, Marquez was able to topple the Filipino boxer with a sixth round knockout.
Pacquiao, who won two of their three previous encounters, wanted a rematch.
But Bradley, who has already defeated both boxers, thinks another rematch could do more harm than good in both fighters.
“I think it’s a dangerous fight for either guy. Both guys know each other very well,” he said.
Bradley said Pacquiao should pursue a rematch with him instead.
The American fighter snatched the WBO welterweight crown by edging Pacquiao with a controversial split decision last year.
“I’m just letting everybody know I want to face him and regardless, if he don’t want to face me, then he don’t want to face me, and there is nothing I can do about.”
Pacquiao is scheduled to fight Brandon Rios on November 24, almost a year after his loss to Marquez.
The comeback fight will take place at Cotai Arena inside The Venetian Macau.
