Far Eastern University dominated St. Benilde as it posted a 25-16, 25-14, 25-20 victory against the Taft-based spikers in Shakey’s V-League second conference at The Arena in San Juan City Sunday.

A report posted on V-league.ph said the victory is the second for the Lady Tams, placing them in a tie at second in the conferences’ rankings with San Sebastian Lady Stags with 2-1.

Shaira Gonzalez unloaded 13 kills and finished with 15 points while Irish Morada added 12 hits for the Lady Tams, as they boosted their Final Four chances in the tournament.

“The girls are still tired from their Unigames campaign, so they were a bit disorganized,” said FEU coach Nes Pamilar. “Hopefully, we’ll be able to raise the level of our game when our guest players start to join us this week.”

The Lady Blazers remained winless in three games.

Meanwhile, Adamson struck down the University of Santo Tomas, 23-25, 25-21, 25-9, 25-20.

Nerissa Bautista posted a tournament-high 27 hits to rally Adamson, which initially was a set down against the Tigresses.

“Nene is back and I couldn’t ask for more for her game. She’s in top condition and she’s at home here at Adamson,” said Lady Falcons mentor Dulce Pante.

The win was Adamson’s second in three starts as it forced a three-way tie for second with San Sebastian and FEU.

The Tigresses, who with the Falcons and the Tams finished among the top four in the recent Philippine University Games in Dumaguete City, slid to 1-1 for fifth.
