V-League: SSC aims for 5th win

MANILA – Reigning five-time NCAA champion San Sebastian College (SSC) will aim for its 5th win in the Shakey’s V-League Season 6 when it faces Adamson University on Tuesday.

The Lady Stags attained its 4-1 card after edging Ateneo-OraCare, 25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 17-25, 15-13, on Sunday.

Joy Benito made 24 hits while Jinni Mondejar and Melissa Mirasol each scored 14 points, The Philippine Star reported. Ateneo’s Angeline Gervacio, meantime, contributed 20 hits.

SSC is currently third in the standings behind No. 1 University of Santo Tomas (UST) and No. 2 Far Eastern University (FEU). UST is undefeated at 5-0 while FEU is at 5-1.

Aside from the SSC-Adamson clash, other matches on Tuesday will feature UST vs College of St. Benilde and FEU vs Lyceum.

The last play date in the V-League single round robin eliminations will take place on Friday when UP plays against Lyceum, Ateneo takes on Adamson, and SSC challenges UST. – With a report from The Philippine Star
