HOLLYWOOD, California - Manny Pacquiao said he remains focused on Juan Manuel Marquez, and is not putting much thought into the recent comments by Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s camp regarding their possible fight next year.
Mayweather's adviser Leonard Ellerbe told sports network ESPN that they want to make a mega fight in May and will do everything possible to make it happen.
Though he didn't name Pacquiao specifically, the sports world believes Ellerbe is making reference to the pound-for-pound king.
“No problem, as long as there's no problem with the promoter. Right now I'm very focused on my fight on November 12th so let's talk about that after the fight," said Pacquiao.
Kobe visits Pacquiao during training
Basketball superstar Kobe Bryant paid a visit to Pacman at Wildcard Gym on Thursday, as he continued his training for his upcoming battle with Marquez.
“Kobe's good. Pasalamat tayo because binisita tayo ni Kobe Bryant dito sa training and he's going to watch the fight," said Pacquiao after his training.
Live appearance on Kimmel
Pacquaio’s fans were glued to their TV screens as they watched their idol on his customary appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live before his fights.
This time he sang the Bee Gees classic "How Deep is Your Love" with Kimmel.
Pacquiao even brought a box of his new Pacquiao Produce to the set, "Like Popeye had spinach, Pacquiao has broccoli," joked Kimmel.
A few Filipinos got to sit in the audience.
"He's unpretentious and he's casual. No frills no thrills, just being who he is," said Mark Sobordo as he entered the El Capitan Theater where Jimmy Kimmel Live is filmed.
