MANILA, Philippines – Barangay Ginebra guard Dylan Ababou tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the Kings' game against San Mig Coffee Sunday night and is expected to be out for six months.

Ababou suffered the injury in the first half after trying to get past San Mig’s James Yap. It was an unfortunate incident for the former UST Growling Tiger, who only recently recovered from a hamstring injury.

Ababou confirmed the news on his Twitter account, after thanking fans for their prayers and concern.

"Na-ACL ako, I'll be out for six months," he tweeted. "Please continue to support our Never Say Die Barangay Ginebra."

It is another huge blow to the perennial crowd favorites, who are mired in a five-game losing streak, their longest string of consecutive losses since the 2009 Fiesta Conference.

They lost to San Mig, 68-78, in a game witnessed by over 19,000 fans at the Araneta Coliseum.

Aside from Ababou, the Kings are also playing without Kerby Raymundo (flu), JJ Helterbrand (hamstring) and Alein Maliksi (ankle).

Ababou scored two points before leaving the game.
