Pacquiao may change style for Marquez fight
LOS ANGELES, California – Eight-division world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao started off the second week of his Los Angeles training camp on Monday as he continues to find new ways to beat his December 8 opponent, Juan Manuel Marquez.
“Papasok na ng Week Two ng practice natin, maganda naman ‘yung galaw natin. Happy si Freddie Roach at saka ‘yung mga strategies, techniques na gamit natin ngayon,” Pacquiao said.
After three close fights with his Mexican rival which has resulted in two narrow Pacquiao victories and a draw, the Pacman believes he may have to change his style in order to get a decisive victory.
“It’s going to be different compared to the last three fights that we had, and I believe it’s going to be a good fight. My focus for this training camp is aggressiveness, so in the fight I can give a good fight,” he said.
“We’re not relying on one strategy and movement,” Pacquiao added. “We try to study different moves, different strategies, different techniques so we can use it in the fight.”
In his first week of camp, Pacquiao has sparred a total of 18 rounds. He will be joined by two new sparring partners on Tuesday.
Pacquiao has four more weeks to go in his training camp and as he progresses, he expects to be in 100% fighting condition within the next two weeks.
