Adamson’s Janet Serafica has been the key in most of the Lady Falcons’ wins.

She proved this again as she led the Adamson Lady Falcons in beating the Lyceum Lady Pirates, 26-24, 25-16, 25-16, during Tuesday’s Shakey’s V-League game at The Arena in San Juan City.

It was Adamson’s fifth straight win as it joined the La Salle Lady Archers (5-1) in the Final Four of the tournament.

“Janet (Serafica) is the key to all our plays. She distributes the ball well, particularly for our top hitters,” said Adamson coach Dulce Pante in the official website of Shakey’s V-League.

Serafica kept the Lady Falcons’ offense going with impressive plays for the team’s hitters with Rissa Jane Laguilles and guest player Nerissa Bautista responding with 14 attacks apiece to power Adamson to the straight-set, 1:11-hour victory.

Serafica, the best setter in the last UAAP season, played true to form and came through with 67 excellent sets against Lyceum, which bowed out of contention with a 2-4 card.

Meanwhile, the UST Lady Tigers overwhelmed the FEU Tams in three sets, 25-13, 25-17, 25-12, also on Tuesday to join San Sebastian in third place.

“I am satisfied with way they played, especially on service, receiving and blocking. I’m glad we’re reaching peak form,” said UST coach Cesael delos Santos.

The Tigers and the Stags now both have 3-1 slates while the Lady Tams fell to joint fifth with Lyceum at 2-4.

Aiza Maizo blasted 16 hits while guest player Mary Jean Balse added 15 points for the Tigresses, who will fight it out with the Lady Stags for the No. 3 semis slot on Friday.
