LOS ANGELES, California – Everybody’s still in awe at the incredible performance of Manny Pacquiao.

As soon as Pacquiao got into his locker room right after the fight, he got together with his wife and closest friends. With a priest praying over him, he just closed his eyes and immediately said a long prayer to thank God for his safety, a great victory and giving him the strength.

Pacquiao admitted to us in the locker room that he got hurt pretty bad.

You can see that his knuckles are swollen. His side is also hurt from a strong punch that he got in the 6th round.

His face is bruised, though not as badly as his foe, Mexican Antonio Margarito. He himself said it was the toughest fight of his life.

He never expected Margarito to be this strong. He said, somehow, he got power from the Holy Spirit.

Every time Margarito would let out 2 or 3 punches, he would retaliate with 4, 5 or 6 punches.

Pacquiao said he does not know if he could continue to fight with this kind of intensity although he will definitely continue fighting.

Coach Freddie Roach said his game plan worked perfectly: Pacquiao moved fast; he got out of the ropes except in the 6th round.

Roach is incredibly proud of Pacquiao, saying he followed the game plan to the T.

Pacquiao had compassion

Roach admitted Pacquioa had compassion on Margarito in the 12th round that is why he did not finish him off.

Pacquiao said he thought the fight should have been stopped earlier because he could already see the damage he had inflicted on his opponent.

Roach also made an interesting comment in the locker room. We asked him: Who do you want to see next for Pacquiao?

He said: “Well it should be [Floyd Mayweather, Jr.] but I’m sure if Floyd watched the fight there’s no way he’d wanna fight Pacquiao.”

Sluggish, hurt

Dressed in a nice suit, Pacquiao was then whisked back to his hotel after a press conference.

Margarito never appeared for the press conference, badly hurt that he is.

In his room, Pacquiao was again checked by a doctor. This did not stop his friends and supporters from knocking on his door, however.

Soon, visitors would start to trickle in.

His body pains were still apparent when he appeared for a thanksgiving mass the morning after his fight. He was able to sleep for only a couple of hours.

He walked sluggishly and was supported by his wife, Jinkee.

Plants and Zombies

After the mass, his whole team moved to Los Angeles for a little rest and recreation.

It is already usual to see him sign autographs everywhere he goes, but this morning was different. He begged off, saying he was still in pain.

Despite this, Pacquiao still had some humor left in him.

In his room, he played the famous tower defense game -- Plants vs Zombies.

He said he was not only proud to have snatched 8 world titles as a boxer, he said he was also able to break his Plants and Zombies record.

Any plan of retiring is still out of the question. Pacquiao said he still has enough strength left in him.

For now, he will have to tackle his role as Sarangani Province Representative.
