MANILA, Philippines – World flyweight champion Hernan “Tyson” Marquez of Mexico is bracing for a war when he takes on fellow titleholder Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria in a title unification fight this Saturday at the Los Angeles Sports Arena.

It will be a battle of two of the top flyweights in the world, with Marquez holding the World Boxing Association belt while Viloria defends the World Boxing Organization title.

“It will be an exciting fight,” Marquez guaranteed in an interview with PhilBoxing’s Mike Lopez. “Viloria will be in great shape, and I will be in great shape.”

“It will be a war, and may the best man win,” he added.

Marquez also said that his gameplan is “a secret for now.” “The people will see this Saturday night at the fight,” he said.

But the Mexican also said that he will do his best to defeat Viloria by knockout.

If he beats “The Hawaiian Punch,” Vazquez may have to defend his title against Filipino fighter Milan “El Metodico” Melindo, the number one contender of the WBO.

“That would be nice to fight in the Philippines,” Vazquez said of a potential fight against Melindo. “I heard a little bit about Melindo, that he is very good.”

“If it happens, let it happen. I am not scared of any fighter,” he added.

Marquez is focused on Viloria, however, especially as the Filipino flyweight has beaten several of his countrymen already.

“I am in great shape, the best shape of my life. I trained very hard for this fight... I will show him what this tough Mexican is made of,” Marquez said.
