RP Supercross slated at Speedworld Circuit
MANILA -- The National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA) will hold the penultimate round of the 2009 Philippine Supercross Championship at the Speedworld Circuit in SM Bicutan, Paranaque City this coming Sunday.
The race will also serve as the tune-up for the Philippine motocross team of Kenneth San Andres and Jan Carlo Rellosa who will be competing in the final round of the 2009 FIM Asian Championship series scheduled in Al Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on December 5.
The event is sponsored by global heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Monark whose equipment were used in carving out the state of the art race track that was built in compliance with FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) technical and safety standards.
Registration and practice sessions will be on Saturday, November 21. The races will be held from 9 am to 5 pm the following day.
The overall winner of the 2009 NAMSSA National Supercross Series will be awarded the Motocross Rider of the Year Title and the Mayor Jun Bernabe Cup, a token from the CEO of Paranaque City.
The NAMSSA is the sole body for governing motorycle sports in the country today and is affiliated with the Philippine Olympic committee the FIM.
