Pacquiao wants stronger finish in 4th Marquez fight
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao said he plans to rain punches on Juan Manuel Marquez from start to finish when they meet again this December.
To do that, he said, he must achieve optimum conditioning by the time he steps inside the ring.
“Yes, that’s why I train hard for this fight. More action, more condition in the ring, which I have been doing in all of training camp. I always train hard, but this time is a little harder,” Pacquiao said during his conference call with the boxing media on Wednesday.
Pacquiao said improved conditioning will help him sustain his energy even if the fight goes the full route.
All of his bouts with Marquez have ended in controversy, especially the last one in 2011 when he faded in the latter rounds.
“I will try not to fight as slow at the end of this fight as I did in the last three fights. That is my focus now,” said Pacquiao.
Part of their strategy is to employ more movements and more combinations, he said.
“We have been throwing more combinations, and changing our strategy – in movement. So it will be a little different than the last one,” said Pacquiao. “I want to finish stronger in this fight.”
