HANOI - Thailand’s Wisut Artjanawat won the Mercedes-Benz Masters Vietnam Sunday after a storming six-under-par back nine featuring back-to-back eagles.

The 27-year-old, who carded a course record-equaling seven-under-par 65, beat compatriot Pavit Tangkamolprasert by one stroke at Hanoi's Van Tri Golf Club.

Thailand’s Kwanchai Tannin and Pravee Visalkit, who started the day sharing the lead, finished third and fourth respectively in the 50,000-dollar tournament.

Wisut, who also won the Mercedes-Benz Masters Philippines in May, teed off five shots behind the leaders and even at the turn he did not feature on the leaderboard.

However, he catapulted himself into first place with eagles on 10 and 11 and birdies on 13 and 15.

"I was very, very lucky. This is my day for sure," said Wisut, who finished with eight-under-par 280 after his four rounds.

"It is kind of strange because I did not play the par fives very well this week but today I was four under for them. I don’t know what happened," he added.

He heads home to compete in this week's Mercedes-Benz Masters Thailand, the final event of the season on the Mercedes-Benz Tour.

For much of the day it looked as if Pavit, playing in the last flight, would take the title.

He was four under for his round after back-to-back birdies on 11 and 12 to go eight under overall but bogeyed the 14th and missed several birdie chances, including a 20-footer on the last.

Kwanchai shot a 72 while Pravee came in with a 73. Filipinos Michael Bibat and Marvin Dumandan finished equal fifth.
