UST, Adamson verge on V-League finals
MANILA – Defending champion University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Adamson University are one win away from making it to the finals of the Shakey’s V-League Season 6.
This comes after both schools beat their opponents in the opening games of the Final Four round Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Adamson Lady Falcons pulled off a 25-17, 22-25, 22-25, 25-11, 15-11 win over the San Sebastian Lady Stags in the first match.
Angela Benting tossed in 37 points and Jill Gustilo contributed 24 points for the Lady Falcons.
“I can’t say a thing for Angela [Benting]. She’s very confident and has been complementing well with our new setter in Des [Patilano],” Adamson coach Dulce Pante told V-League.ph in Filipino.
The Lady Stags, meantime, were bannered by Joy Benito with 17 points and Jinni Mondejar with 15 points.
Main game
The UST Tigresses had an easier time wrapping up their match against the Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tams.
The Tigresses won in straight sets, 25-20, 25-22, 25-20, according to The Philippine Star.
The UST squad was boosted by Angeli Tabaquero’s 19 points. Aiza Maizo and Maruja Banaticla contributed 11 apiece for the Tigresses.
Rachel Anne Daquis, on the other hand, was the top scorer for the Lady Tams with 14 points.
