MANILA -- The 5th Rapid Chess Festival for Non-Master and Kiddies gets underway on December 12 in Quezon City.

The tournament, set to take place at the Barangay Covered Court, Chico Street, Barangay Quirino 2-A Project 2, is open to all non-titled chess players. Female titled chess players may join the tournament.

The Mode of play is Seven-round Swiss system with allotted time of twenty five minutes per player in the event sponsored by Art A. Borjal Good Samaritan Foundation, Inc. in cooperation with Barangay Chairman Noel R. Agdeppa and the Barangay Council of Quirino 2-A, Q.C.

The champion in the Open Non-Master division will receive P6,000 plus trophy while the kiddies division 14 and under champion gets P4,000 plus trophy.

The runner-up in the Open Non-Master division will get P4,000 plus trophy while the kiddies division 14 and under runner-up will bring home P3,000 plus trophy.

The third placers in the Open Non-Master division will receive P3,000 plus trophy while the kiddies division 14 and under third placers gets P2,000 plus trophy.

Prizes, both divisions up to the 10th placers while cash prizes also awaits for the top lady, 10 year old and under, 12 year-old and under, 18 year-old and under, top 55 year old and under.

Registration will start from 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Registration fees:Kiddies division P200 and Open age division P250.
