Patriots to face Tigers in ASEAN league
MANILA – The Philippine Patriots will aim to lengthen their winning streak at home when they take on the Thailand Tigers in Round 8 of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
The Tigers vs Patriots clash will take place at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City Tuesday.
The Patriots, currently in 3rd place with 5 wins and 1 loss (11 points), are undefeated at home, according to the ABL website.
They defeated Indonesia’s Satria Muda BritAma, 74-56, at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan City on November 21.
Their only loss was handed by the Singapore Slingers at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in October.
Satria Muda BritAma jumped to the top of the standings with 4 wins and 4 losses (14 points) while the Slingers slumped to 2nd place in the standings with 5 wins and 2 losses (12 points).
The Tigers, on the other hand, are in 5th place with 2 wins and 5 losses (10 points). Malaysia’s KL Dragons occupy the No. 4 spot with 3 wins and 4 defeats (10 points) while the Brunei Barracudas are at the bottom of the standings with 2 wins and 5 losses (9 points).
Meanwhile, the Patriots vs Barracudas game that was postponed last month due to Typhoon “Santi” (international code name Mirinae) has been rescheduled to December 21. The game will be held at the Ynares Sports Arena.
