Pacquiao takes Sunday off
MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao spent Sunday morning attending church service at the Shepherd of the Hills Church in Los Angeles, together with his wife Jinkee, his team, and other Filipino supporters.
A day before traveling to Las Vegas, Pacquiao joined the congregation in joyous praise, deep prayer and reflection as he listened intently to the message of Pastor Dudley Rutherford.
At the end of the service, Pastor Rutherford led a special prayer for the boxer, asking God for supernatural strength and success for Pacquiao’s upcoming fight against Juan Manuel Marquez as well as wisdom for his role in helping Filipinos as a congressman.
Pacquiao spent the rest of his Sunday relaxing at the Palazzo apartment and had a darts tournament.
Pacquiao’s trainers say they see the power, speed and movement the boxer needs to score a convincing win against Marquez.
The Mexican boxer arrived in Los Angeles from Mexico late Saturday night and is also raring to go.
Pacquiao and Marquez will fight for the fourth time on December 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
