MANILA, Philippines - Roger Mayweather, trainer and uncle of undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., confirmed that Michael Koncz visited his nephew in their Las Vegas gym a few weeks ago.

Koncz is the business adviser of Filipino boxing champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

"Michael Koncz? You mean Pacquiao's manager? Yeah, I was here, I was with him at the hotel," Mayweather said in an interview with Boxing Scene.

It was earlier reported that Koncz had visited the Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas, although there are conflicting reports as to what was discussed in the meeting.

But Mayweather said the mega-fight between Pacquiao and his nephew was among the topics discussed.

"Talked about how that's a big fight and Pacquiao needs to fight Floyd," he said.

Pacquiao has confirmed that negotiations for the mega-fight are taking place. Just last week, the Filipino boxer said that only a few details need to be ironed out.

His promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, said that there are numerous groups wanting to invest in the mega-fight.

Mayweather himself seems to be more optimistic about the possibility of the fight happening.

"I couldn't see why it wouldn't happen," he said. "The fight is too big not to happen. The fight is too big for the world not to see it. The fight has to happen."

"It ain't like Floyd won't fight Manny Pacquiao. And I don't think Manny Pacquiao would say he don't want to fight Floyd," Mayweather added.

Floyd Mayweather has already challenged Pacquiao to sign a contract for a May 5, 2012 fight date, saying he was ready to sign any day.
