Let them come to me.

This was what Manny Pacquiao told reporters at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) when asked who between Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather Jr. he would like to face the next time he enters the ring.

Pacquiao's Philippine Airlines flight PR103 touched down at the NAIA Terminal 2 at 4:43 a.m. Wednesday. He left Los Angeles around 10 p.m. with his team.

"Maghihintay lang ako kung sino ang maghahamon. Magpapahinga muna ako, bakasyon. Ako, boksingero lang, trabaho ko at pini-prepare ko ang sarili ko," Pacquiao said when asked who will be his next victim.

The Filipino boxing idol said he doesn't care who Bob Arum will choose for his next fight after winning the "biggest fight in my career."

He said he considers his victory over Golden Boy Oscar de la Hoya as the greatest in his whole boxing career.

Pacquiao said that for now, he wants to take a break from boxing and focus on spending the holidays with his family.

After celebrating his birthday on December 17 in General Santos City, he will fly back to Los Angeles with his children and celebrate Christmas with his waiting pregnant wife, Jinky.

Pacquiao, as expected, was mobbed by the media at the airport. He made a brief statement, thanking all his Filipinos fans around the world for the prayer. He said he would not win his last fight withouth the Filipinos' undying support.

"Salamat sa mga kapamilya, nagpapaslamat ako sa dasal. Karangalan nating Pilipino ang panalo kong ito. Tagumpay nating lahat ito," he said.

From the airport, Pacquiao went straight to the New World Renaissance Hotel in Makati City for a brief rest. He was scheduled to go to the Black Nazarene church in Quiapo, Manila, for a Thanksgiving Mass.

After Quiapo, the Pacman will go to Malacañang for a courtesy call to President Arroyo. From Malacañang, he will proceed to the House of Representatives.

The government has arranged a huge motorcade for Pacquiao on Thursday, which will start in Quezon City and end at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Ambassador of peace and a seat in Congress

At Malacañang, Mrs. Arroyo will give Pacquiao the new title "ambassador of peace."

Lorelei Fajardo, deputy presidential spokesperson, told Malacañang reporters that Mrs. Arroyo will welcome Pacquiao in Malacañang after the boxing idol's arrival.

Fajardo said Mrs. Arroyo is preparing to appoint Pacquiao as the country's official peace envoy.

Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri on Monday submitted a Senate resolution declaring Pacquiao as the "Greatest Filipino Boxer of All Time."

Zubiri's resolution also commends the Filipino boxer for his all-time performance during the "Dream Match" against de la Hoya.

The senator said the resolution will serve as the Senate’s “gift” to Pacquiao for his magnificent win over 10-time world boxing champion de la Hoya, whom the Filipino fighter defeated in eight rounds.

Pacquiao dominated de la Hoya throughout the fight, which forced the Golden Boy to throw the white towel before the start of the ninth round.

On Monday, Quezon City 2nd district Rep. Annie Rosa Susano said she has asked the boxer to run for the seat she will vacate in 2010.

Susano said she made the offer a week before the “Pacman” left for training for the “Dream Match” fight.

The QC representative offered her Novaliches residence to Pacquiao so the boxing champ can establish residence in the district, one of the election requirements.

Susano said the 29-year-old General Santos native will be endorsed by Lakas-CMD and the Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (KAMPI).

She said that although the boxer will make his final decision when he comes back from the US, he is likely inclined to accept the offer.

Susano herself is expected to run for the mayoralty post in Quezon City as incumbent Mayor Feliciano "Sonny" Belmonte is set to finish his three terms as city mayor. With reports from TJ Manotoc and Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News
