Donaire's brother wins comeback fight

MANILA, Philippines – Glenn Donaire, elder brother of bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr., made a successful comeback in boxing after defeating former world champion Alex “Nene” Sanchez of Puerto Rico.

Glenn forced Sanchez to quit on his stool after 8 rounds to win the WBC latino interim flyweight title, according to Boxingscene.com.

Before the win, Glenn knocked the Puerto Rican twice in the 2nd round.

Glenn was coached by Nonito Sr.

Nonito Jr. congratulated Glenn for the victory.

“Just got wind here in PI that my older Brother Glenn won his come back fight. Congrats Manoy Boyet on ur victory. I know we hv our differences in life bt ur kids will be very proud n thankful 4 the dinner u put on the table tonight n every night after bc its UR hardwork n no one else's. God Bless,” Nonito Jr. said through his Facebook account.

Before the comeback fight, Glenn spent a 3-year hiatus from boxing.
