LeBron nets season-high 44 as Cavs trounce Thunder
OKLAHOMA CITY – LeBron James scored a season-high 44 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers thumped the Oklahoma City Thunder 102-89 on Sunday.
James shot 16-of-29 from the field, including five-of-eight from three-point range, as the Cavaliers won their second-consecutive game.
Mo Williams scored 22 points including 11 points in the final quarter for Cleveland, which has captured 6 of its last 8 contests.
Kevin Durant scored 29 points, but also had 7 of Oklahoma City's 16 turnovers.
James scored the final 10 Cavaliers points of the third quarter, hitting 3 long-distance shots.
"It's tough to guard a guy who's that quick, that strong, that's making shots that deep," Thunders' Jeff Green said. "He's one of the top players in the NBA. He turned it on when his team needed it the most."
The Thunder were up 75-68 with a minute and half left in the third quarter before James went on a spree.
He had a 26-foot three-pointer that gave the Cavs the lead heading into the final quarter.
