MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE)– Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is at the top of his game at age 31, achieving a milestone that no other boxer has done: winning 7 world championships in 7 different weight divisions.

The pound-for-pound king, who turned 31 on Thursday (December 17), capped off his landmark year with a grand birthday bash at the KCC Convention Center in General Santos City.

An estimated 2,000 people attended Pacquiao’s birthday celebration, which followed his 12-round victory over Puerto Rican champion Miguel Cotto last month.

This year's party, however, was more subdued compared to last year which was attended by various foreign visitors.

Star-studded affair

Nevertheless, the occasion also turned out to be a star studded affair.

Among the attendees were former boxer and comedian Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco, Jr., actors Philip Salvador, Joko Diaz, Cesar Montano and Bayani Agbayani.

Also spotted arriving into the party site were Brazilian model Diana Meneses, composer Lito Camo and Pacquiao-managed singer Madonna Decena.

Deputy national security adviser Luis “Chavit” Singson and Environment secretary and Manila mayoralty candidate Lito Atienza were also present.

Cotto, who earlier expressed interest in joining the event, could not attend because of time constraints.

Last year’s attendees included former Pacquiao foe David Diaz, Venezuelan champion Edwin Valero, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum and hall-of-fame boxing coach Freddie Roach.

Nanay Dionisia excited to party

Pacquiao’s mother, Mommy Dionisia, earlier said she is excited about her son’s party.

The ballroom dancing aficionado had a special number for her son and his well-wishers.

While Mommy Dionisia did not see the need to practice for her “special number,” the band Centerpoint was busy preparing for their front act performance in Pacquiao’s mini-concert party.

“The Pacman” also hit the stage on his 31st birthday shindig.

According to organizers, the celebration emphasized on other facets of the boxer’s life such as his roles as a son, husband and father.

Pacquiao won his two fights this year by demolishing Briton Ricky Hatton by a 2nd round knockout on May 2 and overcoming Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto via a 12th round technical knockout victory on November 14.

He is set to clash with No. 2 pound-for-pound fighter Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on March 13. – With reports from Chat Ansagay, ABS-CBN News General Santos City, and Jorge Cariño, ABS-CBN News

God Fearing Manny

Remember: "You can buy mansions, but not a happy home!" Merry Christmas for the whole family!

Sa Iyong Kaarawan Pac-Man

Maligayang Kaarawan, "The Greatest Pinoy In The World"!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to you Manny. Wish you all the best and luck for your coming fight with Mayweather.
