MANILA, Philippines – Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) stakes its 2nd place ranking when it faces Far Eastern University (FEU) at the resumption of the women’s volleyball eliminations of UAAP Season 74 on Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Eagles are expected to have difficulty notching their 5th win in 6 games in their 3:30 p.m. match against the Lady Tamaraws, who have been on the run and are at 4th place on a 3-2 card.

Despite their lead player Maica Morada being benched for missing practice for a week, the Lady Tamaraws still scored a 25-22, 25-23, 25-17 victory over the Lady Falcons last Saturday.

The win may put pressure on the Lady Eagles.

“We have cooked up something for them (Lady Eagles). We have reviewed their game and we are ready,” said Lady Tamaraws coach Nes Pamilar.

But the Lady Eagles are determined to keep their grip of 2nd place behind unbeaten defending champion De La Salle Lady Archers (5-0).

“We will try to our best to maintain our standing,” said Ateneo coach Roger Gorayeb.

Adamson University (AdU), meanwhile, faces National University (NU) in the 2 p.m. game.

In the men’s contest, University of the Philippines (UP) eyes its 4th win in 6 outings when it meets Adamson (2-3) at 9 a.m., while De La Salle (2-3) faces arch-rival Ateneo (1-4) at 10:30 a.m.
