Roach: Mayweather’s just scared
Arum says fight is off
MANILA, Philippines -- Hall-of-Fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach said Floyd Mayweather Jr. is merely looking for a way out of the planned fight with Manny Pacquiao by dictating the type of drug testing to be used.
“Well the sanctioning bodies and the state commissions run the boxing world, not Floyd Mayweather,” Roach told 8CountNews.com’s Brad Cooney.
“Who is this guy to tell us that we have to have blood tests, or urine tests, or any tests? He's just looking for a way out of the fight.”
Mayweather demanded Pacquiao to undergo Olympic-style of drug testing before the blockbuster fight pencilled on March 13 amid claims coming from their camp that the Filipino may have been using performance-enhancing drugs.
Olympic-style testing involves random blood and urine testing before and after the fight. The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) testing only conducts urine tests for banned substances before and after the fight.
“I understand Pacquiao not liking having his blood taken, because frankly I don’t know anyone who really does,” Mayweather said in a statement.
“But in a fight of this magnitude, I think it is our responsibility to subject ourselves to sportsmanship at the highest level. I have already agreed to the testing and it is a shame that he is not willing to do the same,” said the undefeated American fighter with a 40-0 (with 25 knockouts) record.
‘Go by commission rules’
Roach, however, said he’s not actually against the tests. It’s just he doesn’t want Mayweather dictating his 
terms.
“We have passed every test ever given to us. We go by the commission rules, not to whatever rule Mayweather puts out there… We fight for the state commission, since when does the fighter make up the rules?” said the trainer.
Pacquiao’s trainer said the Filipino boxer, who has already compiled 50 wins against 3 losses and 2 draws (with 38 KOs), can easily pass any type of drug test. What he’s opposed to is having his boxer give blood a day before the fight.
“It's just like having sex before a fight. You're not supposed to have sex before a fight, it makes you weak. If you mentally think that, it will. When Manny gives blood it takes him 3 or 4 days to recover from it. I am not going to have my fighter going into a fight feeling weak and not sure of himself,” he said.
“He (Mayweather) is scared, and he's just afraid that he's going to get his ass kicked,” said Roach.
The 7-time world champion has consistently passed drug tests conducted by the NSAC including the latest Pacquiao fight against Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto.
Arum: Mayweather’s demand is absurd
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum echoed Roach’s sentiment that the former pound-for-pound king is just looking for an excuse not to fight Pacquiao.
"Mayweather proves that he's a coward and he's looking for a way out of the fight. The Nevada commission has been doing drug testing for the last 40 years. To appease Mayweather, we agreed they could do urine 
analysis anytime they wanted. But Manny doesn't want them to draw his blood when he's in training because it weakens him," Arum said in USA Today.
Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer, who represents Mayweather, said Top Rank president Todd duBoef has relayed to him that Pacquiao would not agree to give blood within 30 days of the bout.
"Todd told me that Pacquiao has difficulty with taking blood and doesn't want to do it so close to the fight," Schaefer said in the statement.
Arum said Mayweather’s demand is just pure harassment.
"I know deep down Mayweather doesn't want the fight. He can take a walk," said the Top Rank chief. “The plug is pulled. The fight is off as far as we’re concerned.”
Arum said he is currently looking for a fighter to replace Mayweather for the March 13 tiff.
Among the names being considered are Paul Malignaggi, who recently defeated Juan Diaz, and World Boxing Association light middle weight champ Yuri Foreman.

Wala yan si mayweather kung laban laban, di naman to olympics eh. tsaka ano na ba ang record ni pacquiao di 55 fights na eh si maywetaher 40 pa lang. Eh di sya ang gumagamit ng drugs kasi di pa sya natatalo ganyan. Thinkers are doers ika nga. Ganyan lang ang mga kano mapagbintang. Tingnan mo sa iraq may weapons of mass destruction may nakita ba. destructive sila no. Kaya kayong mga ugok magbasa, magsaliksik, mag analyze at magmasid para di ka mag mukhang tanga.
MANNY'S NEXT FIGHT...
Too bad the biggest fight in history won't happen.. For now.. I guess we'll just settle with Manny fighting Yuri Foreman for a Jr. Middleweight belt. That's just horrible. Manny fighting a nobody and at best a B- fighter in Yuri Foreman.

Dude I'm not arguing with you whether the testing is any different than doing it before 30 days and after the fight which Manny wants. Look man I agree this testing is BS and never done in boxing. Floyd's scared or whatever. You don't have to go in details with hand speed and power. That's not my point man. I'm just telling you Manny is really getting hamered out there. Outside the Philippines, more and more people are jumping on the Manny is on roids bandwagon. People are talking out here.. Oh and those fighters I mentioned about demanding testing from Manny, no they're not Internet rumors.
I hate to see this happening to Manny coz I like him and he's a good man. The U.S. media here is powerful enough to destroy anyone's legacy. I hate the media here coz they're very manipulative. I just hope they don't all go against Manny coz right they're divided. Manny and Bob Arum has to make some kind of compromise. I'm not saying it has to be what Floyd demanded but something that would be acceptable for both sides. I hope they come with something and meet somewhere down the middle. Manny and Bob has to do something to fix it coz it could be disasterous for Manny.

And you need to see what's really happening man. Mayweather is scared of losing and he's going to do everything to win no matter what it takes.
Mayweather is a cheat! He cheated when he fought Marquez and now he's out to do it again. He's afraid of his perfect record will be tarnished by a loss, but he's more afraid that Manny will be able to knock him out. He's not sure he can match Manny's hand speed and explosive punching power so now he's proposing this ridiculous idea of blood testing.
This is boxing! This is not the olympics! I ask you, what's the difference between blood testing before and after the fight? None! If Manny is really using drugs to enhance his strength would they not detect it after the fight? Would the drugs become diluted enough that it cannot be detected right after the fight? Team Pacquiao have no issues with the blood testing, only that it shouldn't be done while training. But that is not enough for Mayweather isn't it? That's because he wants to make sure that Manny's speed and power are reduced when they finally meets. Mayweather has no problem with his own power. He's taller and bigger than Manny so he knows he has the edge, reduced power or not.
Whatever you heard or read, Pacquiao is still THE BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING. Every boxer need to challenge him because when you are fighting Pacquiao, your fight purse jumps to millions or possibly even billions of dollars. These issues will come to pass and Manny's legacy will be ensured if he does not give in to Mayweather's foolish demands. Currently, I'm no longer expecting a Pacquiao-Mayweather battle. Pacquiao doesn't need Mayweather. It is Mayweather who needs Pacquiao.

Hate to break it to you bro and everyone. You all need to get out of Manny's world. I'm a Manny fan but I'm also a boxing fan and I follow boxing real close and I'm telling Manny is taking a big PR hit because of this. Dude it's already happening, other fighters have already said that they'll demand testing if they fight Manny. All the Golden Boy fighters said they'll make that demand (Marquez, Diaz, Mosely, etc) and those other than Golden Boy (Berto, Bradley, Malignaggi, etc). Those names I mentioned are the big names being mentioned to replace Mayweather.
You don't believe me? Look it up man! Get out of Manny's world and Philippine news and be in the real world so you can make an unbiased opinion. I'm a fan of Manny but I'm stating my unbiased opnion on what Manny should do coz I hate to see a good man get ruined for crap like this. I agree it's BS but the reality man. Boxing is different from other sports. Boxing relies on power and a boxer without power is nothing. Even the weakest boxer out there is still stronger than an average person. I don't care if they take a few CCs or a pint of blood for testing but the fact that you're drawing blood from a person means he's susceptible for losing a portion of his strength.
Mayweather Sr., and junior has been making Manny's strength an issue since Manny knocked out Hatton. They are afraid that Pacquiao will overpower Mayweather Jr., so they're trying to push this issue hoping that Manny will be weakened enough that he can't be able to use his speed and power.
And what is that about Pacquiao in danger of losing his reputation? I don't think so. Pacquiao is the biggest draw in boxing right now. No one comes closer to Pacquiao. The danger is if Pacquiao will submit to this bullshit then every other boxer he faces will demand the same bullshit from him.
Stand your ground Team Pacquiao. It is Mayweather who really needs this fight. If this doesn't push through, Mayweather will be branded a coward. Hell, try googling this now and you'll see lots of people are already thinking Mayweather is wetting his pants.

What the hell are you talking about? The blood drawn for drug testing is 5-10cc. Your looking at a small vile, test tube not a freakin barrel. You can ask any doctor out there and they'll you that much blood taken out will not weakean a person especially not an athlete the caliber of Manny.. Olympians, cyclists, athletes at international competition are subjected to that type of random testing..
Manny doesn't have a choice. He could do the tests or if not, he might as well retire coz every other fighter out there reportedly will be demanding USADA testing on Manny if they fight him. That's the word out in the boxing community folks..

I know they're talking about other fights for Manny if the Mayweather fight doesn't happen. Guess what folks, Floyd has set a precedent to other boxers. Word out is that the other fighters being mentioned as possible opponents for Manny (Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, Andre Berto, Paulie Malignaggi, etc.) are also demanding that Manny take the same testing Floyd us asking. You heard right folks other possible future opponents for Manny will be demanding drug tests.
The right thing for Manny to do is just do those stupid blood tests or else his reputation in the boxing community will be damaged beyond repair. If he really has nothing to hide then he should do the blood testing.
Again folks, Floyd maybe an a-hole for demanding this and you can call him a coward all you want but the only way Manny can shut everyone's mouth is by agreeing to the tests. Or else he will never get to fight a big name fighter again.
Even though there's no proof Manny is on steroids just take a look at Roger Clemens, Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, great baseball players whose reputation has been damaged beyond repair even though they denied and there's no proof of their steroid use.
