MATANGLAWIN
April 7, 2008
In this episode, Kuya Kim tries to discover why Filipinos believe in the power of amulets/anting-antings. Can an amulet really make a person invincible?
Former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. shares his knowledge on these objects that give people superhuman strength. Kuya Kim was also lucky to take a peek at Nardong Putik’s agimats.
He will also visit Mount Banahaw, believed by some to be the New Jerusalem, to find out why people climb the mountain in search of anting-anting, psychic or paranormal experiences. The Spiritual and Empowerment guru, Frank Regis joins Kuya Kim and sheds light on this matter.
In Dolores, Quezon he meets Ka Piling, the leader of the group known as Santissimo Trinidad. They are well known for their agimats tattooed in their bodies and the pieces of a 15th century chalice buried under their skin.
In Quiapo, he learns about the different amulets and anting-anting being sold in front of the church. And from the curator of the National Historical Institute, he was able to see the replicas of amulets/talismans worn by our national heroes like Andres Bonifacio and Emilio Jacinto.
