MYX, the number one music channel in the Philippines, will air "PINOY MYX: HANDOG KAY PRES. CORY" as a tribute to the first woman president of the country on August 5, Wednesday, starting 7:30 a.m.

"PINOY MYX: HANDOG KAY PRES. CORY" is a 30-minute special featuring songs that became the soundtrack of the life and times of the late former President Corazon Aquino.

The program will also feature thoughts, prayers and messages gathered online along with interviews of various celebrities and prominent personalities.

The special will air on August 5 at 7:30am, 1:30pm, 6:30pm and at 11:00pm. August 5 also commemorates the interment of the well-loved president.

The 11th president of the country, Cory Aquino is most known as an icon of democracy who restored the Philippines after years of being under a dictator during the martial law era.

She is an advocate of peace, women empowerment and religious piety and is also the first woman President of the Philippines and the first woman President in Asia.

She has received numerous awards and citations including Time magazine’s Woman of the Year in 1986. Even after her death, she is still seen as the mother of this nation who will forever live in the hearts and memories of Filipinos.
