The secretary-general of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is not happy with China's reported order to its troops to board and search foreign ships in the South China Sea.
ASEAN secretary-general Surin Pitsuwan says the move is "certainly an escalation of the tension" and a "very serious turn of events."
Surin is calling on all parties involved in the territorial row in the South China Sea to exercise restraint. - Top Story, ANC, November 30, 2012
